Bacchus Raises Gourmet Traveller’s Three Glasses For Fourth Year

Bacchus raises Gourmet Traveller’s three glasses for fourth year in row

Following on from last month’s celebrated 2016 Wine Spectator Restaurant Wine List Awards (Best of Award of Excellence) Bacchus continues to add to its impressive repertoire of awards with the Brisbane restaurant upholding its Gourmet Traveller three glass rating for the fourth year in a row.

Curated by Head Sommelier Andrew Giblin, the Bacchus wine selection features a world-class list of over 200 offerings. “The Bacchus wine list is a guided tour of the great wine-producing regions of the world and, like a great menu, provides a wide selection of flavours and styles from which to choose. The list is also constantly evolving as new vintages and some rare museum releases become available,” said Mr. Giblin. Bacchus is also the home of Dom Perignon in Queensland, the first and only in Queensland and one of only three venues in Australia.

Each year, under the watchful eye of Giblin, Bacchus also creates its own label red and white wine in conjunction with two leading Australian producers. This included the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon from the Watson family winery in Margaret River and the 2014 Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre from Kaesler wines in the Barossa Valley.

From staking a claim firmly on the international awards, Bacchus also shines locally, having received the Two Chef Hat rating from the Australian Good Food Guide Restaurant Awards, and a spot in Australia’s Top 500 Restaurants presented by the AFR, which celebrates the brilliant diversity of dining across the country. These recent titles join an already overflowing list for Bacchus…
