More Wins for Artists on Bluesfest 2013 Line up
Testatment to the terrific line-up for Bluesfest 2013 is yet more news regarding major music industry award wins. 25 year old Ben Howard has just taken out the Best Male Solo of the Year and Breakthrough Act of Year at last night’s Brit Awards. “The breakthrough [award] was pretty funny. I didn’t really expect it to be honest. I didn’t expect any of them. It was kind of genuine shock. “What a year 2013 is turning out to be for Bluesfest”, says Peter Noble Festival Director. “I couldn’t be any happier right now, all this good news is positively overwhelming. To have such talented artists both legendary and up-and-coming on our Bluesfest stages is out of this world”.
Joining this highly prestigious winning streak; 3 artists from this year’s Bluesfest line-up picked up a swag of Grammy Awards earlier this month. Bonnie Raitt for Best Americana, Jimmy Cliff for Best Reggae and Zac Brown Band for Best Country Album.
Adding to the winning streak is the recent announcement for rising star and man-of-the-moment; Trombone Shorty who was awarded Artist of the Year, Best R&B/Funk Artist and Best Trombonist by the US Beat Awards.
“What a year 2013 has been so far”, says Peter Noble, next year we turn 25 so you can bet that it will be one hell of a party with some awesome artists on the bill.
