Delirium

Book Review by Hush Hush Biz Book Reviewer Jamie Campbell.

Love is a disease which can be cured. Imagine no longer having to deal with the inconvenience of emotions and falling in love. Welcome to the world of Delirium.

It is mandatory for all teenagers to be ‘cured’ so that society can function without the ridiculous illness of being in love. Duty, service, and sensibility are the name of the game. Conform or die.

For Lena, she is ready for the cure – wouldn’t want any emotions to develop beforehand. Then she meets Alex and the disease slowly spreads inside.

In a race to escape before she can be cured, Lena risks everything in order to follow her heart and believe that love is pure, perfect, and deep. There is now way she wants to get rid of it now.

Delirium is an extraordinarily beautiful book with the prose flowing through the story like an intricately woven masterpiece. Even if you aren’t a fan of dystopian books, you will enjoy this – you probably won’t even notice.
