HOG Festival Planner – HOT OFF THE PRESS!!

Our Artistic Directors and dedicated screener groups are still busily programming and selecting from the fantastic collection of films we’ve received from around the world. In the meantime…please take a peek at our FESTIVAL PLANNER for a snapshot of this year’s golden sessions!

Mastering the art of filmmaking with our industry pros

As we’ve said, HOG’s not just about showcasing short films, it’s also about teaching you how to make films too?!

We’ve got a fantastic slate of hands-on and fun master classes, including:
– Claymation
– Extreme filmmaking with small devices
– How to make a zombie film
– Filmmaking for professional purposes
– Cinematographer’s Master Class – ideal for teachers and students in years 7-12
– Workshops can be paired with an optional viewing session. Check out all the Master Classes via the – ‘LEARN’ PAGE and view FESTIVAL PLANNER HERE.

HOG strikes gold with two grants

We’re excited to announce we’re the receivers of two grants – one from the Regional Arts Fund ($8,120) AND the other from the Regional Arts Development Fund ($5,920)! Woo-hoo!!!

The grants will be put to excellent use and go towards helping us deliver our fun-filled innovative, engaging Master Class Program, driven by some of best in the biz (did we happen to mention we’ll teach you how to make a zombie film – a sure-fired winner with the kids!).

HOG chair Claudia Granshaw said the grants recognised the festival as a significant cultural event for the Gympie region. “The grants also enable us to provide a world-class program where budding filmmakers will have direct access to a gold mine of knowledge and expertise,” Claudia said.
