Duo Armonico perform Spanish Nights in the Gold Coast City Gallery Saturday 21 February.
Duo Armonico are Belinda Manwaring on Cello and Daniel Cunnington on Classical Guitar, who are making a name for themselves around Australia. The 2015 concert series of this elegant and unique musical collaboration between two highly acclaimed soloists begins at The Arts Centre Gold Coast.
This concert, appropriately titled Spanish Nights will feature a vibrant programme of popular Spanish and Latin American works such as Piazzolla Café 1930, Granados and Albeniz.
Daniel will also be performing exciting yet poetic solo pieces by Albeniz, Villa Lobos and Leo Brouwer.
Belinda and Daniel will blend their instruments together in a magical way, as Adelaide reviewer Michael Coglan described, ‘Belinda’s physical connection with her cello and its music being beautiful to watch, and Daniel’s Classical Guitar particularly enjoyable to watch as an ensemble instrument’.
It is a rare opportunity to see this unique combination of cello and guitar performing together on the Gold Coast.
