It is a time for the last minute rush and the kids are now home and many families, specially “Mum” are preparing for all the last minute shopping, as to what gifts to buy plus food, and other last minute things to do before Christmas Day. Southport is now ready to add a cheer as they feel like they have been unwrapped as the construction work is gone! and business is open more than ever with exciting times to come in the next year.

Australia Fair Louise Jurges is the marketing manager and with having seen the barriers of construction go in the last couple of weeks, feels excited with seeing Australia Fair Buzzing.
It has been a hard time Louise explains but moving forward we are back! and we got a lot to offer and one great factor was the new shop “Daiso” which has everything for $2.80, and it is shopping experience with lots of unusual things they have and the added great value for what you can get there. Last week they reported that they cannot keep up with the stock and it was No 1 shop last week. For anyone that wants to give we have Foodbank donation and one lady brought a boot full in yesterday which helps all the needy families.
Santa Photos are only $10.00, and we got 3 hours free parking with 5 hours if you spend $25.00 and free wi fi. The extended shopping is up till Midnight on the 23rd December and there be Christmas Carol singers over the last few days leading up to Christmas.

Free Music is being played each day outside in the Nerang St, between the 12.0pm to 2.00pm which is presented by Fretfest
Brian Sohier, who is the Vice President of Southport Chamber, commented that this is a exciting time for Southport, as in the next 6 months, there is more development with the China Town project to be finished, and the Light GRail will be operating which gives locals plus the visitors a new transport service that will come from Broadbeach to Southport. It is a kind of watch this space as Southport will be the destination to come more so.
