The countdown is on until Australia’s favourite Southern Rockers JJ Grey & Mofro return to our shores for a run of festival performances and headline shows this October.
Australian fans will be able to see them at the Northcote Social Club Melbourne, The Factory Theatre Sydney, The Great Southern Blues Festival in Narooma, and at the Caloundra Music Festival. Known for their phenomenal live shows, the hard workers perform upwards of 100 gigs per year to adoring audiences who can’t get enough of their soulful blend of Blues, Rock, Folk, Funk, Gospel, gritty R&B and personal Southern-inspired narratives.
The 7-piece band will be treating Australian audiences to tracks from their latest release Ol’ Glory (2015), described by Australian critics as “full of sublime summer goodness” (Renowned for Sound) and “one of the albums of the year” (Music Mainline) as well as songs from their extensive back catalogue.
Independent Blues/Soul troubadour Shaun Kirk, a favourite on the Australian festival circuit, has been announced as the special guest for JJ Grey & Mofro’s Melbourne and Sydney shows. Shaun Kirk has come a long way since his debut release in 2010, having been described as “one of the most explosive solo acts Australia has to offer” and “one of the finest blues voices this country has ever heard”. His most recent release Steer The Wheel, his first recording with a band, debuted at #1 on the Australian Blues ITunes charts.
