It might be all about revving monster sized engines, skying over massive jumps and death-defying driving, but the world of Monster Jam® isn’t just for blokes.
Madusa® and Candice Jolly are two amazing women competing in a man’s world – and they are smashing it!
Hitting our shores on October 3 for Monster Jam 2015, the ladies are showing Monster Jam fans that women really can do anything – including drive a custom-built, supercharged, 4,500kg, 2000+ horsepower machine over anything in their path. Now that’s some serious girl power.
The incredible Madusa, who’ll be driving her namesake pink and star spangled Monster Jam truck, was the first ever woman to win a Monster Jam World Finals® Championship. Coming to Monster Jam from a career first as a model, then a professional wrestler, she’s paving the way through the wreckage for more women to enter the sport.
Known as the Queen of Carnage for her sheer fearlessness in smashing through both gender norms and stadiums around the world, Madusa has been dominating Monster Jam trucks – and her male counterparts – into submission for 16 years. And she doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon! How she finds the time for driving is a feat in itself. Constantly in fifth gear running a wolf sanctuary, owning a doggie day spa, helping other women reach the top of their game as a life coach and hitting the gym, Madusa follows her own motto: Stay strong and keep moving on!
She isn’t alone in her domination of the tracks any more though, with a handful of other incredible women joining the scene, including Candice Jolly. One of the sport’s best-known female drivers, Candice has built a huge fan following in her eight years of competing. It clearly runs in the Jolly family – Candice’s sister Courtney has also driven in Monster Jam competitions. Her grandma even raced swamp buggies back in the 50’s!
Like Madusa, Candice is a busy woman, and never slows down to take a ‘brake’ from being a mother and a restaurant manager, running a go-kart track and organizing horse riding experiences for children with Autism and Down’s syndrome. Luckily for all the girls out there – big and small – who’ll be proving that Monster Jam is for everyone, Candice has found the time to head to Brisbane and will be destroying the competition in her spotted Monster Mutt® Dalmatiantruck.
Tickets to Monster Jam 2015 are on sale now at www.monsterjamonline.com.au, starting at just $25 for kids passes and ranging through to a limited number of Total Access Passes, perfect for the biggest Monster Jam fans. $15 for a Pit Pass will provide access to the legendary *Party in the Pits, an experience not to be missed where attendees can get up close and personal with the trucks and meet the drivers, including Madusa and Candice themselves!
