To launch the 2014 Music By The Sea Concert Series, Director Zoli Mauritz has engaged Hong Kong born Helen Lam-Winther, Sine Winther and guest artist Susan Blake to present an elegant piano recital at the iconic Sandgate Town Hall on Saturday 1st February, at

7.30pm.

Cambridge University educated Ms Lam-Winther has played for BBC, ABC, Hong Kong and Swedish radio, performed in the UK, Germany and Hong Kong, released CD’s, taught at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, and produced a special masterpiece – her gifted

daughter Sine.

Born into a household of classical concert pianists, playing beautiful piano pieces is in Sine’s blood.

Formally tutored by Russian pianist Natasha Vlassenko at the Con, she has emerged as one of the most artistic young performers in Australia.

Guest artist and Churchill Fellowship recipient Susan Blake was also awarded early success graduating from the Sydney Con as “Student of the Year’, and as winner of the ABC Concerto Competition.

A career rounded by studying in Switzerland and Austria, touring as a soloist and with international orchestras has led to a special interest in 18th century Baroque music and instruments.

Ms Blake plays a cello made by Giovanni Grancino in Milan in 1701.

This special event is also the grand finale to a fine career, and last opportunity to hear Ms Blake perform as she retires from public life.
