Postcards returns in 2018 for its 20th season, exploring the best the Mornington Peninsula has to offer at 5.30pm this Sunday on Nine.

Rebecca Judd starts the year with the Postcards team, sharing their favourite holiday stories, at the newly opened Point Leo Estate which overlooks stunning Western Port Bay. Whilst admiring the spectacular sculpture park, Bec finds Phil Wood, the estate’s culinary director, who takes her to the kitchen to sample some of the delicious items on the menu. No meal is complete without wine, so Bec visits the cellar door to sample the chardonnay before grabbing a snack from the outdoor eating area to end her day.

The Mornington Peninsula is known for hosting some of Victoria’s hottest new places to eat and Shane Delia is there to show us just that. First up, we find Shane at the Peninsula’s new foodie paradise, Gourmet Paddock, a restaurant with a bar, a deli, a fishmonger and a butcher. Shane meets head chef Alan Earle at the butcher’s and he shows him how to make the perfect scotch fillet dish, with his secret, top-quality local ingredients.

Next on Shane’s list is the French bistro Le Bouchon, where he meets the front-of-house manager Stephane Salares and tucks into French delicacies before heading home.

Meanwhile, Brodie Harper is mixing with the rich and famous at the annual Portsea Polo extravaganza, where food, wine and fashion combine with Australia’s biggest polo event. In need of some fashion advice, Brodie hunts down polo fan Andy Lee and his girlfriend, model Bec Harding, for their thoughts on this year’s trends before visiting the hottest marquee, the Jaggad Marquee, which is hosted by Chris and Bec Judd. Brodie then retreats for the night to the luxurious Jackalope Hotel, the 2017 Gourmet Traveller Hotel of the year. With 46 designer dens that overlook the picturesque vineyards, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a Peninsula colada at the end of a long day.

Lauren Phillips discovers a unique activity at Two Macs Farm, a working farm that gives visitors the experience of living off the land and also hosts cooking classes. To start her tour, she checks out the accommodation which includes the Bee Keepers Cottage for couples and the Harvest House, ideal for a large group. Owner Mary McCarthy shows Lauren around the property, collecting fresh eggs and visiting the extensive herb and veggie garden. Lauren and Mary then take their produce to the kitchen to whip up tasty super-green fritters.
