The 56th TV WEEK Logie Award Winners
After 15 years in television, SCOTT CAM has beaten out his rivals to claim Australian television’s most coveted prize – the TV WEEK Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on TV.
It was cause for double celebration for the television personality, who also took out the gong for the Most Popular Presenter for his role as host of The Block. The two awards are Scott’s first personal gongs for his work on Australian television.
In taking home the TV WEEK Gold Logie, SCOTT secured the award over fellow nominees ASHER KEDDIE, CARRIE BICKMORE, STEPHEN PEACOCKE, ANDY LEE and ESSIE DAVIS.
“It’s unbelievable, I didn’t think I’d have Buckley’s chance of winning it!” says the 51-year-old, who was presented the award by Australian performer KYLIE MINOGUE.
“I watched the Logies as a kid, and I loved them. When I was younger, to watch my heroes winning [Gold] like Bert Newton, Don Lane, I can’t fathom [that I have won one next to them]. I am a carpenter; I am not up there with them. I was lucky enough to get a nomination in that circle, which is pretty fun. It’s ridiculous, really.”
KATE RITCHIE, LINCOLN LEWIS, SAMANTHA ARMYTAGE and STEPHEN CURRY were just a few of the presenters who took to the stage at Melbourne’s Crown Casino for the glitzy event.
The TV WEEK Logie Awards pulled out all the stops once again in the entertainment stakes with electric performances from pop superstars KYLIE MINOGUE and JASON DERULO. American duo MKTO and solo artists JOHN NEWMAN and ED SHEERAN also took to the stage and got the crowd out of their seats.
Offspring star ASHER KEDDIE won two TV WEEK Logie Awards for Most Popular Actress and Most Outstanding Actress for her portrayal of Nina Proudman in the Network Ten Aussie drama. CHRIS LILLEY won the Most Popular Actor category for his role as Ja’mie King in the comedy Ja’mie: Private School Girl, while LACHY HULME’s portrayal of Kerry Packer in Power Games: The Packer- Murdoch Story scored him the Most Outstanding Actor award.

TV WEEK Logie Awards were also picked up by Most Popular Drama Program winner Home And Away, Redfern Now for Most Outstanding Drama Series and My Kitchen Rules in the Most Popular Reality Program category.
Respected newsman PETER HARVEY was posthumously inducted into the TV WEEK Logies Hall Of Fame in recognition of a career spanning decades and a dedication to delivering the news. Australian musical darling Tina Arena performed an emotional number for the ceremony’s In Memoriam segment.
