Voting for the TV WEEK Logie Awards 2015 kicks off!
Australian drama Neighbours celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2015. Can it also claim the Most Popular Drama category at the 57th TV WEEK Logies? Fellow long-running drama Home And Away won last year and will provide stiff competition in a category that has 28 entrants. Also popular with viewers in 2014 and in contention are Offspring, Wentworth, The Code, House Husbands and INXS: Never Tear Us Apart. The TV WEEK Gold Logie will be awarded to the most popular person on television. In 2014, presenter Scott Cam picked up the coveted Gold Logie, as well as the Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter. With two wins under his belt, it was a very special night for Scott.
Voting is now open for viewers to get behind their favourite actors, TV shows and personalities in the 2015 TV WEEK Logie Awards. Voting in the Most Popular categories begins on Monday, January 12, and continues until Sunday, February 22, at www.tvweeklogieawards.com.au
“I’m predicting voting numbers will skyrocket again in 2015,” TV WEEK Editor Emma Nolan says. “Australian TV has never been hotter and viewers are incredibly passionate about their favourite shows and stars. I can’t wait to see who makes the list this year.” While the public can vote for the Most Popular categories, a panel of entertainment industry experts will judge the peer-voted Most Outstanding awards.
Home And Away actress Bonnie Sveen won the Most Popular New Talent Logie in 2014. “I’ve been doubly busy since then,” Bonnie, 26, tells TV WEEK. “But it feels like I’ve established myself, which is really lovely.” Bonnie also had some words of advice for those who win awards this year. “Just remember what’s important on the night,” Bonnie says. “My parents were the first people I called. It was wonderful to share that moment and shed a tear or two.” The 57th TV WEEK Logie Awards will take place on Sunday, May 3, at Crown Entertainment Complex’s Palladium Room in Melbourne.
Nominees for the 57th TV WEEK Logie Awards will be revealed in TV WEEK magazine on Monday, March 23.
