In the future, where everything is determined by statistics and genetics, it is time for Cassia to be matched with her perfect genetic partner.
With an unshakable faith in the government, nothing is left to chance in the society. People are given their partners, their jobs are pre-determined, and nobody can have more than anybody else.
When Cassia receives her match, she is ready to accept her future and make a family with him. The problem is, she knows he’s not her perfect match. The outcast, the man who can never be allowed to have a partner, is the one whom she truly loves.
Starting to question the government is a dangerous thing, something that can ensure a one-way ticket to a place nobody ever wants to go. Cassia must decide whether her heart is more important than her head.
Matched is an intriguing concept, one that instantly sparks the imagination and curiosity. While initially the world Cassia lives in might sound utopian, the cracks are starting to form.
A little slow at times, Matched does have that ‘what if’ factor. The concept was enough to keep me hooked, however I don’t have a burning desire to see what happens in book two. Imagine a cross between Divergent and The Fault In Our Stars.
