Snow, skis, snowboards, mountain adventures and some of the biggest names in electronic music are set to collide once again when Snow Machine Japan returns to Hakuba Valley from 2–7 March 2027, celebrating its fifth year in one of Japan’s most spectacular alpine destinations.
And if the first artist announcement is anything to go by, Snow Machine 2027 is shaping up to be its biggest and most immersive festival yet.
Leading the first line-up is Irish DJ and producer KETTAMA, renowned for his infectious house and hard dance productions and electrifying festival performances at Glastonbury and Coachella.
Joining him is UK drum and bass heavyweight Wilkinson, the producer behind the platinum-selling anthem Afterglow, bringing his signature anthemic productions and powerhouse live sets to the mountains.
Also joining the first announcement is Grammy-nominated producer TOKiMONSTA, one of the pioneers of Los Angeles’ influential Beat Scene and a genre-defying artist celebrated for her captivating performances around the world.
And that’s only the beginning.

Across five festival days, Snow Machine will transform Hakuba Valley into an enormous alpine playground, combining world-class skiing and snowboarding with mountain stages, après parties and headline performances beneath the stars.
For 2027, festivalgoers can experience eight unique stages across seven mountains, including two stages at the Main Arena.
The Main Arena will once again become the heart of the festival, with nightly takeover stages running from Thursday through Saturday. Each will deliver its own curated experience alongside the festival’s headline performances.
During the day, guests can carve their way through Hakuba’s renowned snow terrain before swapping ski boots for dancing shoes as the mountain comes alive with Snow Machine’s signature après experiences.
As the lifts close, the party simply moves location, with the Main Arena firing up for headline performances, immersive production, side events and plenty of surprises still to come.
Snow Machine Director Quentin Nolan says the 2027 festival will push the experience even further.
“Every year we challenge ourselves to create an experience that goes beyond a traditional music festival, and 2027 is no exception. As we celebrate our fifth year in Japan, we’re bringing our biggest lineup yet, alongside brand new stages, fresh mountain activations and even more unforgettable experiences, taking Snow Machine to a whole new level.”
He adds:
“Snow Machine is about bringing together incredible artists, world class skiing, Japanese culture and unforgettable moments in one of the most spectacular alpine destinations in the world. This first lineup is just the beginning.”
AUSTRALIAN TALENT TAKES TO THE SLOPES
Australian electronic music will once again have a strong presence, with Sneaky Sound System, Gold Coast DJ and producer Luude, Melbourne DJ and producer Sam Alfred, and DJ artist and entrepreneur STÜM bringing plenty of homegrown energy to Hakuba.
The international line-up also features English electronic musician and DJ Elderbrook, Scottish DJ and broadcaster Arielle Free, all-round artist Kanine and Irish producer and DJ Rebūke.
Snow Machine will also shine a spotlight on Japan’s own electronic music scene.
Tokyo-born DJ and producer Risa Taniguchi will bring her underground techno sound to the festival, while DJ and producer Yuuki Yoshiyama, known as the “Tech Maestro”, will deliver his distinctive mix of house, tech house and techno.
Teenage DJ duo Kaiharubro, brothers Kaito and Haruto, will also take their renowned scratching and mixing skills to one of Japan’s most iconic alpine destinations.
MORE THAN JUST MUSIC
While the music is a major drawcard, Snow Machine is also about experiencing Hakuba itself.
Festivalgoers can spend their days exploring pristine ski terrain before relaxing in traditional Japanese onsen, discovering local restaurants and izakayas or taking in the spectacular mountain scenery and famous Japanese hospitality.
And when the lifts close, the adventure continues.
Snow Machine’s signature program of side events will return in 2027, featuring après experiences, mountain parties, pop-up performances and late-night celebrations throughout Hakuba Valley.
With more artists, events, activations and surprises still to be announced, the festival promises to deliver an even bigger experience both on and off the slopes.
