Matt James from Mashd N Kutcher has announced that he will make his first DJ appearance at the hot NEW Brisbane Nightclub Eclipse Brisbane next Sunday 5th May. This will be Matt’s first show since his Multiple Myeloma diagnosis last year.
Since August 2023, Matt has been undergoing extensive treatment for Multiple Myeloma, which is an incurable blood cancer. Matt is currently undergoing weekly treatment and although has a long road ahead, he is working closely with his medical team to reduce the disease’s presence. They are constantly looking at different ways to create a path towards a more manageable way of life.
During this time the Mashd N Kutcher band has been playing some amazing shows. Including at nightclubs and festivals across the country, travelling to Asia and even performing for 40,000 people at Melbourne’s MCG for the ‘Big Bash League’ event. Touring globally with over 1500+ live shows to date across Asia, India, Europe & the United States, Mashd N Kutcher are a unique live electronic music act combining elements of multiple genres & decades into their unique style of dance music, performed live as a collective of DJs and multi-instrumentalists.
Over the last year Matt has been busy diving deep into music writing and producing dozens of new records. He is excited to personally play to a live audience for the very first time in his hometown of Brisbane next Sunday. Matt will be performing with Mashd N Kutcher for a special event at Brisbane’s newest Superclub Eclipse. For one night only, the venue will turn into a massive 360 degree ‘Boiler Room’ style event with the DJ in the middle of the crowd, surrounded by the audience, 360 degrees from all sides. Joining MNK will be a line-up of exciting acts, including: Latifa Tee + Local Supports. Latifa Tee, with her contemporary edge and having played alongside international heavy-hitters like EARTHGANG, ASAP Ferg and Jaden Smith, has also performed to thousands of punters at mainstay festivals like: Beyond the Valley, Spilt Milk and Oktoberfest, and now, she’s excited to take the stage as part of Eclipse’s first 360 experience for this special Mashd N Kutcher event.

“Over the past 9 months I’ve been going through weekly treatment I’ve still got a long way to go but I have an amazing medical team working on it and we’re getting on top of things. I’ve written and produced an album for the band plus another 30ish records finished ready to go. While I’m not cleared to fly or anything too crazy just yet I do want to get out and share this music with people so SUNDAY MAY 5TH in our hometown of Brisbane at the brand new super club @eclipsebrisbane we will be playing a 360 degree show with a killer line-up and the DJ setup in the middle of the dance floor boiler room style.
