the artists of the 2024 Australian Festival of Chamber Music will share their guilty musical pleasures in
Townsville-Gurambilbarra in just a few months, so it’s time to buy tickets NOW!
In 2022 and his first year as Artistic Director of the internationally acclaimed Australian Festival of Chamber Music (AFCM), British violinist Jack Liebeck asked invited musicians to reveal their musical Guilty Pleasure! They did, it was a hit with audiences and three years later, the pleasures haven’t stopped!
Guilty Pleasures are the musical pieces – classical or otherwise – that artists love to play in their own time. In what has become quite the sought-after musical experience, Liebeck has programmed 20 of these performances as part of the famed 10-day event this year.
From 26 July to 4 August, more than 35 artists including 10 international artists, 20 Australian artists and 5 ensembles, will create the music and atmosphere in Townsville-Gurambilbarra for which the AFCM is famed around the world. Fourteen artists will make their AFCM debut and the program includes two world premieres and one Australian premiere.
