International sale set to take-off at Melbourne Airport

Melbourne Airport and Click Frenzy are teaming up with major international airlines to cut the cost of travel to popular international destinations.

Starting on the 18th of February and running through until the 23rd of February, ten international carriers, including United Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines, will be offering discounted fares from Melbourne Airport to destinations around the globe.

The sale is designed to help Victorians make their money fly further, with many families looking to prioritise travel despite cost-of-living pressures.

Melbourne Airport recently recorded its busiest ever summer of international travel, with more than 2.3 million international passengers welcomed through the terminal across December and January.

Melbourne Airport Chief of Aviation Jim Parashos said the arrival of new airlines and addition of new services have created the competitive landscape necessary for a sale of this size.

“Our international market has pivoted from recovery to growth and that’s a great outcome for passengers with the added competition continuing to put downward pressure on fares,” he said.

“For a time, international travel was out of reach for the average family, but we’ve seen fares come down and now with sales such as this families can lock in an affordable overseas holiday this year.

“We’ve worked hard to bring new airlines into the market while supporting the growth of our existing carriers, and the extra competition this has generated is a great result for consumers.

“With such huge demand for international travel, we are now working with the airlines to finalise plans for a transformational expansion of our international terminal.

“This project along with several other key infrastructure upgrades including our third runway will unlock capacity at peak times and allow our airlines to expand operations here in Melbourne, which is a great outcome for consumers and Victorian exporters.”

Head of Marketing at Click Frenzy, Daniel Thomson, says “We’re thrilled to partner with Melbourne Airport to offer exclusive access to some of the best flight deals of the year, making dream destinations like Japan, London, and Bali more affordable than ever.

“With record-breaking international travel numbers and increased airline competition driving fares down, there’s never been a better time for Victorians to plan their next holiday. Australians are still feeling cost-of-living pressures, so saving now on flights means there’s additional budget to spend on unique experiences, top-notch accommodation, and unforgettable memories while travelling.”
