Ashley Graham and Swimsuits For All have once again dropped a line of size-inclusive clothing, this time with a ’90s-inspired throwback campaign. A series of photos for the collection has been released, featuring bright colours, rollerblades, and of course, the supermodel herself cruising along the Venice Beach boardwalk. The throwback theme may be the model’s contribution to the continuing ’90s revival wave which Hush Hush Biz has previously reported on.

The photos taken by Ben Watts highlighted pure beach fun, complete with retro boomboxes, Walkman players, neon pink cars, and multi-coloured surfboards. Graham can also be seen wearing scrunchies and snap bracelets for the nostalgic vibe. US Magazine describes the resort capsule as “the most colourful yet” among the Graham and Swimsuits for All collabs.

Talking about her inspiration for the collection, Graham said, “My mom and I used to rollerblade for miles behind the house that I grew up in. It was definitely my happy place, which inspired me to design these ’90s retro suits and shoot this campaign. I’m excited to see proud women of all shapes and sizes hit the boardwalk in these styles.”

The collection itself caters to a wide variety of sensibilities. One that is worth mentioning is the Ashley Graham x Swimsuits Rewind Monokini Swimsuit, a strappy swimsuit with adjustable ties and wire-free removable bra cups.

Those who like the more indulgent side of the ’90s may take interest in the Bijou High-Waist Bikini which has chains. The Retro Textured One-Piece Swimsuit harks back to a bright palette coupled with a ribbed design, while the figure-hugging Notorious Monokini Swimsuit is perfect for those who want to flaunt their bodies with some skin. But for women who prefer not showing too much of their bodies, the flowy Posh Kimono is a maxi for going in and out of the water. As with other pieces in the collection, the new ones are available in sizes 4 to 24.

Graham’s retro lineup is another great addition to the collections that the plus-size model has released in recent months. After a size-inclusive collaboration with UK-based retailer PrettyLittleThing, Graham has also released a lingerie line called “The Purple Rain” where she created bras, undies and babydoll slips and ranges across sizes.

Graham has found herself once again at the forefront of a growing size-inclusive movement in fashion. Her entry into lingerie and swimwear is noteworthy as these two areas do not usually have plus-size versions. Her foray into these territories has empowered women to boldly wear what they want. The latest collection is particularly exciting as it encourages plus size women to be comfortable in swimwear. It also tells women that there are lots of ways to look good in such outfits aside from two-piece bikinis. Styling options are plentiful as women can also play around with other pieces, most notably cover-ups which go hand in hand with swimwear. As shown on Woman Within, plus size women can go for different styles of cover-ups like button-front, tie waist, and scoopneck. This piece comes in a wide range of colours and patterns, too, allowing women to mix and match to achieve the perfect retro look. From a wider perspective, it’s safe to say that Graham’s collection unleashes creativity and inspires women of all shapes and size to express themselves through fashion.
