Children’s Hospitals around Australia will receive a much needed funding boost from exclusive preview screenings of Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie held at selected Event Cinemas, Greater Union and BCC Cinemas around Australia on Sunday 6 December – these screenings raised over $71,000 nationally.
The screenings were held as part of a special partnership between cinema distributor 20th Century Fox, Australia’s premier entertainment, hospitality and Leisure company Amalgamated Holdings Limited (AHL) and key children’s hospitals around the country.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone who supported the charity Snoopy screening on Sunday, the funds raised will go directly to our eight partner children hospitals around Australia to continue their amazing work in treating sick and injured kids,” says David Seargeant, Group Managing Director AHL.
Locally in Queensland, $26,255 was raised which will help purchase much needed equipment and patient entertainment services as well as research into the most devastating childhood illness and disease.
Children’s Hospital Foundation CEO Cameron Prout said, “Some of the important things that will be made possible with this campaign’s support include funding vital new equipment, supporting children’s health research and making a difference to sick kids around Queensland, including those in regional areas.”
These screenings are just one way in which AHL supports a number of key charities around Australia with other $1.5 million donated to Children’s Hospitals over the past four years of the partnership.
Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie will be in cinemas 1 January.
