Jupiters Hotel & Casino is pulling out all stops and bringing stand-up comedy’s finest to the Gold Coast to celebrate the tenth instalment of hit comedy series Laugh Your Pants Off on Friday July 10.
This one-night-only line-up is headlined by Australian musical comedy trio Axis of Awesome, veteran Russell Gilbert, the vivacious Celia Pacquola and Australia’s funniest emerging talent Troy Kinne. Audiences can expect an evening packed with side-splitting humour as Michael Workman, Bev Killick, Paul Brasch, Jimmy Poulos and Jacob Lingard also join the bill.
Managing Director Geoff Hogg said Laugh Your Pants Off is expected to sell-out again, as comedy fans continue to flock to Jupiters for the hugely popular series.
“Laugh Your Pants Off has cemented its position as an iconic night of comedy on the Gold Coast, attracting the very best in stand-up from around Australia and the world,” he said.
Witty, inventive and outrageously hilarious, Australian musical comedy band The Axis of Awesome (AoA), will perform a variety of original material and pop parodies which have entertained millions around the world.
AoA’s Four Chord Song is the highest rated comedy video of all time on YouTube, receiving more than 40 million hits. The globe-trotting band has also performed on some of the world’s most notable stages from the Sydney Opera House to the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, and has made TV appearances in Australia, the US, the UK, Asia and Sweden.
Joining the ranks is Russell Gilbert, one of the nation’s most loveable stand-up and comedic performers. Russell has had a colourful and awarded career, performing for Network 10’s Comedy Company, Nine Network’s Hey Hey it’s Saturday and the Russell Gilbert Show, hosting national radio broadcast Russell Gilbert Live, as well as touring in the US with Russell Crowe and his band, and Seinfeld’s George Costanza – just to name a few achievements.
Smart, honest and hilariously relatable, multi-award winning comic Celia Pacquola is sure to provide a performance packed with laughs. Celia has cemented her position as one of the most in demand comedians in Australia, while also forging a strong following in the UK.
She is also a regular on Australian television, appearing in Spicks and Specks, The Project, Good News Week, Dirty Laundry and Have You Been Paying Attention? Celia’s wit and jokes know no boundaries, with international guest appearances on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Chelsea Lately and The Rob Brydon Show.
Up-and-coming talent Troy Kinne is also comedic force to be reckoned with. Renowned on the stand-up comedy circuit, Troy has gained national attention for his rapid fire one-liners and man-on-the-street pearls of wisdom as the star of eponymous sketch comedy show KINNE (7Mate). He is also a regular on the Fifi and Dave radio show and Network 10’s Have You Been Paying Attention?
