IT’S GONNA BE HOT!!!
It’s only seven short weeks until Bluesfest, and we are making another major artist announcement. Today the following artists will join the Bluesfest lineup:
Sticky Fingers
Sampa The Great
A Heartfelt Tribute to Uncle Archie
(In association with the Archie Roach Foundation)
Fools
Jerome Williams
A message from Peter Noble OAM, Bluesfest Festival Director.
“I hope you feel as we do about the Bluesfest lineup”.
“Not only is it one of the best bills in the festival’s history, I believe it is the festival bill of the season”.
“Sticky Fingers, the bad boys of Australian music, currently on their sell-out UK Tour, will be playing one of their all-too-rare shows in Australia. They have only played a handful in the last five years, and Bluesfest is happy to welcome them back.
“Sampa The Great has been truly discovered on a worldwide basis. She plays all the major festivals these days, including Glastonbury, Coachella, Primavera, Lollapalooza and Newport Jazz Festival. Now for the first time, she’ll be appearing at Bluesfest on Easter Saturday.
“A Sampa The Great show is full of surprises, incredible dancing, and she isn’t afraid to walk the walk.
“The first time I saw The Heartfelt Tribute to Uncle Archie in association with The Archie Roach Foundation at the Woodford Folk Festival, there was a standing ovation for this incredible outpouring of love. The whole room was crying, it was incredibly emotional, and I am so proud to have this Tribute at Bluesfest”.
“Fools absolutely blitzed at Bluesfest 2022; how could we not bring them back this year? And Jerome Williams is a don’t-miss Gold Coast artist”.

STICKY FINGERS: Music illuminates even the darkest moments. A song lets in a sliver of light when you need it the most. It doesn’t matter how dark it gets out there; we’ve got Sticky Fingers. Theirs is an underdog story already worthy of a tell-all memoir or old-school Behind the Music. The quintet—Dylan Frost [lead vocals, guitar], Paddy Cornwall [bass, vocals], Seamus Coyle [lead guitar], Beaker “Beaks” Best [drums, percussion], and Freddy Crabs [keys, synth]—accomplished the seemingly impossible as a wholly independent act since just 2008. Affirmed as one of Australia’s biggest bands, they’ve delivered three straight Top 5 albums, earned ARIA platinum and gold plaques, eclipsed 1 billion streams, and sold out the continent’s most hallowed venues, usually reserved for the likes of Elton John and Post Malone. However, their earthquaking hybrid of rock, alternative, reggae, and psychedelic burns brighter than ever on their 2022 fifth full-length offering, Lekkerboy.
SAMPA THE GREAT: Sampa The Great is the award-winning moniker of Zambian musician, poet and songwriter, Sampa Tembo. A dynamic force in contemporary hip hop, Sampa The Great rose to recognition in her then-base of Australia through early mixtapes, notably her breakthrough 2019 project Birds and The BEE9, which won the coveted Australian Music Prize. Since then, the strength and lasting quality of Sampa The Great’s profile has been exemplified through standout headline and festival performances; supporting the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Thundercat and Ms. Lauryn Hill, and developing works that have taken the wider music industry by storm.
A HEARTFELT TRIBUTE TO UNCLE ARCHIE (in association with The Archie Roach Foundation): Long-time friends and musical collaborators come together at Bluesfest for a special tribute concert to honour the life and legacy of our beloved Gunditjmara and Bundjalung songman Uncle Archie Roach through story and song.
FOOLS: In the space of 3 interrupted years FOOLS have grown in stature to become one of Australia’s most talked about proponents of the rock and roll genre. Healthily under the influence of soul, blues, and Americana, and brimming with originality and rareness, the Melbourne-grown 13-piece juggernaut performs with a command of both wildness and intimacy and dedicate themselves to bringing their audiences in on every little moment of onstage joy.
JERMONE WILLIAMS: Some people march to the beat of their own drum. Jerome Williams marches to the beat of his own guitar. When Jerome picks up an acoustic guitar, he makes it do things you’ve never heard before. Expect the unexpected as he switches from percussive guitar beats to spitting bars then suddenly throwing in some insane shredding. Kind of like if Drake and Slash had a mildly deranged lovechild. Unashamedly his authentic self, Jerome was put on this earth to perform. His mission is to make people want to get up and dance. Like no one’s watching of course. The more chaos, the better. He does this with a pure rawness and a mashup of rock, hip hop and funk.
