Final Announcement includes:
Angus & Julia Stone
Boy & Bear
Sticky Fingers
Jurassic 5
Additional Thursday show.
Festival Director Peter Noble is gushing over the latest additions:
“To be adding Angus & Julia Stone, Boy & Bear, Sticky Fingers and an additional performance from Jurassic 5 only three weeks out of the Festival is a huge milestone. This is a time when all artists are truly locked away and no further announcements are scheduled. We have now added a whole slew of Australia’s best contemporary talent. Angus & Julia just performed on the steps at Sydney Opera House – selling 5,000 Tickets.
The StiFi’s haven’t had ANY shows on their current tour NOT sell out. Boy & Bear have not been playing ANY shows since their sell-out tour last year, and have not performed on any Australian festival for over 2 years.
And, what can you say about Jurassic 5 other than they are bloody INCREDIBLE!
The newly added artists will be performing alongside these incredible musicians on Bluesfest’s opening night – Thursday 2nd of April: Counting Crows, Hozier, Jimmy Cliff, Keb’ Mo’, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, SOJA, Justin Townes Earle, Chris Robinson Band, Nikki Hill, Diesel n’ Dub, Augie March and so many more!
“It’s going to be Jammin!”
Ben Howard reschedule information:
We are sorry to report that Ben Howard will not be performing at Bluesfest this year. It’s only 3 weeks since he finished his spectacularly successful US tour and he has now decided to update his show, working some new musicians into his band.
Ben is a perfectionist and he feels he needs a little more time to work on his show, so it will be at the level his fans have come to expect when he comes to Australia.
As a result he is rescheduling his tour by 6 weeks in order to complete rehearsals. Of course we would prefer Ben to be playing at Bluesfest and we know his fans will be disappointed. Check out

Thursday single day refunds for those who were only coming to see him will be made available until 19th of March by calling the office on 02 66858310.

ANGUS & JULIA STONE
“Call it a coming of age or a re-invention, but the new self titled record by Angus & Julia is the most exciting, visceral listen yet”
Australian sibling troubadours Angus & Julia Stone are returning to Bluesfest after six years!
The darlings of Australian folk-pop have catapulted from their humble beginnings in Sydney’s Northern Beaches to international notoriety since their debut in 2007.
Equally enjoying incredible success as solo artists, together Angus & Julia have conquered the Australian charts, radio waves, and awards ceremonies, particularly with the multi-platinum selling, No. 1 album Down The Way, which topped the Triple J Hottest 100 and gave us anthems like ‘Big Jet Plane’, and ‘And the Boys,’ the former winning ARIA Song of the Year.
At the end of 2014 they delivered a captivating self-titled third album– produced by the legendary Rick Rubin & speculated as possibly their best yet. Debuting at No. 1 and already achieving gold status, it lead with the Top 40 single ‘Heart Beats Slow’, and has received world-wide critical acclaim.
Rubin comments ‘‘this album is extraordinary. Angus and Julia are truly unique musicians… they are authentic and pure people who do things from the heart. I’ve never worked with anyone like them before.”
Bluesfest proudly welcomes Angus and Julia back for what is sure to be a dazzling, rousing set!
BOY & BEAR
“Their live performances are energetic and full of endearing crowd-interaction” – Music Feeds
“The meteoric success of Moonfire left many in little doubt that Boy & Bear had a big future in the music world and having backed up their first album with the equally impressive Harlequin Dream, and one heck of a live show, it’s clear that these guys are here to stay” – Dwarf
One of the hottest Australian bands to arrive in years, Boy & Bear makes their Bluesfest debut in 2015.
In only six years since winning Triple J’s Unearthed, the Sydney quintet have made serious inroads, touring the world over with their platinum-selling debut ‘Moonfire’, which won five ARIA awards including Album of the Year.
Confidently intertwining folk and pop, Boy & Bear received new fans after releasing their cover of Neil Finn’s ‘Fall at your Feet’ for the popular ‘He Will Have his Way’ compilation. The song was produced by ARIA winning Wayne Connolly, who then went on to produce the and sophomore album Harlequin Dream, which boasted a No. 1 debut in the ARIA charts, two songs in Triple J’s Hottest 100, and attracted Aus Music, Triple J & Rolling Stone award nominations. The hit single ‘Southern Sun’ was the number 1 added song to non commercial US radio in 2013.
Continually making international heads turn, USA Today named them as one of “five Australian acts you need to know”.
Bluesfest is excited to be the only gig to take them out of the studio at this time, making this a special Australian performance. Catch this ascending band helping us celebrate opening night!
STICKY FINGERS
“…an impressive set from the young Sydney band, who showed their skill in fusing an eclectic mix of genres to produce upbeat music oozing both soul and funk. And they did it all with a charismatic sense of youthful reckless abandon. They’ll definitely be a band to keep an eye on into the future”
– News Unlimited
“There is something good about finding a band just as honest as Sticky Fingers high on the triple j rotation list. Another with that loose reggae feeling underpinning Caress Your Soul (Independant), which works as pop music, but not the disposable kind” – Drum Media
One of the hottest names in Australian music right now, Sticky Fingers are making their Bluesfest debut in 2015.
A melting pot of reggae, psych & pop, the Sydney band’s 2013 debut album, ‘Caress Your Soul’ made the Top 40, delivered multiple charting singles and a spot on Triple J Hottest 100. Three singles went onto high rotation on national Australian radio and the title track peaked at #17 on the ARIA single charts.
They’ve since played for pack-out crowds across Australia, UK and Europe, including several festivals.
Last year ‘Land of Pleasure’ was released to great reception. It showcases a developing maturity in the band and even more miscellany as they apply sweeping ballads, dub, electronica and instant summer party anthems to their already diverse, fresh sound. The live set is an unapologetic, spirited good time.
One of the best times you will have is at a Sticky Fingers set – and they will bring the party on Bluesfest opening night – get amongst it!
JURASSIC 5 – Hip royalty amping up Thursday night!
“It’s hard to summarise a show that holds you in an audible trance the whole way through and a crew of MC’s that each uniquely have you at their every beck and call”-– THE BEAT
