Today Bluesfest reveals the latest line up addition and this time it’s not only more artists but also a new venue!
As if the 2013 Bluesfest couldn’t get any bigger, the new venue The Lotus Palace will feature nightly showcases and the launch of Boomerang, a multi-arts festival highlighting and celebrating an experience of living cultures through traditional and contemporary music, featuring some of the world’s oldest instruments, dance and rituals along with traditional arts practices and workshops that focus on mother tongues and first instruments.
Special performances at The Lotus Palace by Christine Anu, Thelma Plum, Tjupurru, Leah Flanagan and Airileke will launch Boomerang at this year’s Bluesfest.
The Lotus Palace will also be home to unplugged performances by Jon Anderson, the voice of YES, the incrediblecollaboration of street musicians from around the globe; Playing for Change, Russell Morris, Ireland’s incredibly gifted Damien Dempsey, cheeky performances from Mullumbimby’s Burlesque Vixen, the one and only Mae Wilde and showcases from Southern Cross University, as well as the Young Sounds of Byron featuring Byron Steiner School and a combined performance from Byron and Kadina High School.
