When her Authentic is placed in danger, Ven must step into the human’s life and pretend to be her. Both of their lives rely on being able to keep her existence a secret and make people truly believe she is her.
What Ven doesn’t count on is falling in love with her human bodyguard. He sees her as a real, living person and not merely an imitation to be used and disposed of. Can Ven get away from her owner and those after her Authentic?
Hildenbrand has built an intricate world full of heartbreak and greed. Imitation is an excellent story of what makes a person a human and what gives a life purpose. Definitely a must read for any science fiction fans.
