Book review

Book review by Hush Hush Biz book reviewer Jamie Campbell

In the second instalment in the Vampire Academy series, Frostbite starts where the first book leaves off. It is wintertime, which brings with it a new set of challenges for Rose and her best friend Lissa.

Much to the Moroi vampire’s dismay, their enemies, the Strigoi, are banding together and plotting to take out all the royal bloodlines. Starting with one of the more powerful families, everyone is set on edge.

During the winter break, the students of the St Vladimir’s Academy holiday in a ski resort to remain safe from the Strigoi. With additional protection, they feel safe there.

But Rose doesn’t stay. She will risk everything in order to keep her friends safe. Which just might be her downfall.

I am happy to say Frostbite is really where the Vampire Academy books starts to shine and you realise what all the fuss is about. It is gripping, intense, and is not afraid to break your heart.

A highly recommended read for anyone who loves paranormal, vampires, romance, and action.
