AGRIPPINA ACTOR AUDITIONS
BRISBANE BAROQUE will be holding auditions this Monday 14 March for acting roles in their international production of Agrippina, an operatic masterpiece by Handel.
This beautiful production by director Laurence Dale and designers Tom Schenk and Robby Duiveman premiered at Göttingen International Handel Festival, the company at the forefront of Baroque resurgence in Europe.
British director Laurence Dale will be flying to Brisbane to rehearse the production.
All actors would need to be available for the following rehearsals and performances:
Ø Weekday evenings and Saturdays (morning and afternoon): Tuesday 15 March – Thursday 31 March
Ø Day and evening rehearsals: Friday 1 April – Wednesday 6 April
Ø Performances: Friday 8, Thursday 14 & Saturday 16 April (7:00pm) and 10 April (1:00pm)
**Please note: All actors must be prepared to commence rehearsals on the evening of Tuesday 15 March
Here is a breakdown of roles:
AGRIPPINA’S OLD NANNY
Female in mid-late sixties. A tough nut, complicit in murders and intrigues, a bitch from hell. Able to wear high heels and look slinky in a body fitting dress.
HANDMAID OF POPPEA
Should be a dancer in her 20’s/30’s, graceful, beautiful and smart since she has plenty of interplay with Poppea (for whom she substitutes) and Nerone who seduces her, kills her and then carries her around on his shoulder.
MALE EXTRAS (SIX NEEDED)
Need to be strong and credible in Captain America outfits. They push the two set pieces around all evening and participate in a number of scenes. Minimum age 18.
