COUNTRY STAR CASEY BARNES THE #1 INDEPENDENT ARTIST IN AUSTRALIA
New tour dates announced and tickets on sale now
Already a household name on the Australian country music scene, Casey Barnes’ genre-defying rise is just getting started. His latest single is rousing ample attention from mainstream audiences with his innovative fusion of country and pop music.
We spoke to Casey on the new song/ video and tour.
A 100% Independent Artist, his new single, ‘Come Turn Me On’ is not only #1 on The Music Network Country Chart but has propelled him above the likes of perennial chart-topper Jimmy Barnes, Triple J Hottest 100 winner The Rubens, and blues rock icons The Teskey Brothers, on the AIR Independent Singles Chart.
Remarkably, with the release of his new single, Casey is currently the most played Australian country artist on mainstream radio. In fact, aside from country icon Keith Urban, he is the only country act to achieve mainstream success so far in 2021.
Needless to say, Casey Barnes is cementing himself as one of Australia’s must-see artists. Over June and July, he will be lighting up venues across the East Coast, from urban hotspots Brisbane, Sydney and the Gold Coast, to regional Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns, including headlining the Red Hot Country Festival on the Sunny Coast.

The Queenslander recently signed with Michael Chugg and Andrew Stone’s independent Sydney-based company, Chugg Music who also represent the likes of Lime Cordiale, Sheppard and Mia Rodriguez. Michael Chugg AM, an entrepreneur, concert tour promoter, and country music enthusiast, knew Casey was the perfect protégé to build around.
“Beyond being an amazing musician, Casey is a great guy and he works hard,” Chugg said. “We’re thrilled he’s achieving mainstream success and now getting airplay on major commercial radio networks including the HIT Network and Grant Broadcasters, which is rare for a country artist. We believe this is just the beginning, there’s some great songs to come.”
As a husband and father to two daughters, ‘Come Turn Me On’ is a song about missing home, and your loved ones that make it your home.
“This single is a blend of modern country meets commercial pop which I’ve really connected with over the last few years. The song is about a guy who’s basically travelled around the world, seen his fair share of girls but nothing compares to coming home to the one he loves.” Casey said.
“I can’t wait to add ‘Come Turn Me On’ On into the set for all our upcoming shows! We’ve actually created a brand-new live show for 2021, and it’s great to finally see some major festivals and events coming back after the pandemic, which we’re thrilled to be a part of.”
‘Come Turn Me On’ is set to be one of the biggest anthems throughout his upcoming “Back In Town” tour. Ten shows are scheduled across Queensland and New South Wales, including his first performance in Sydney for over two years, at the Paddington RSL. Tickets below and at caseybarnes.com.au
