CHRISTMAS SPIRIT ALIVE WITH LAUNCH OF WHITE CHRISTMAS STOCKING FUND

Warner Bros. Movie World, the Gold Coast Community Fund and the Gold Coast SUNS have joined forces again this Christmas with the annual White Christmas Stocking Fund to raise money for local Gold Coast families throughout the festive season.

For the sixth successive year, the Stocking Fund will raise much needed money to be distributed to struggling families by key charities nominated by the Gold Coast Community Fund.

The launch of the Stocking Fund is the first stage in the countdown to the annual White Christmas Charity Event held at
Warner Bros. Movie World where 4,500 disadvantaged Gold Coasters will experience a magical evening of Christmas entertainment.

Warner Bros. Movie World General Manager, Greg Yong said the White Christmas event is a family favourite and the park is proud to be able to again join with the Gold Coast Community Fund and the Gold Coast SUNS to make a memorable night out for thousands of our guests.

“Warner Bros. Movie World has a long history of supporting the Gold Coast community and the vital work done by the Gold Coast Community Fund. The White Christmas Charity Event is a great opportunity for us to provide families with a wonderful night out,” he said.

“This year we have introduced an amazing new fundraising concept where Gold Coast small businesses will be able to make a cash donation to be part of the spectacular White Christmas Parade dressed in Christmas costumes in their very own branded float.”

Gold Coast SUNS General Manager of Consumer, Stadium & Community – Kelly Ryan, welcomed the event into its sixth year. “Every year we look forward to coming together with the Gold Coast Community Fund and Warner Bros. Movie World to help Gold Coasters who are doing it tough, enjoy a magical Christmas,” she said.

“As a club, this is by far the biggest community event the Gold Coast Suns participate in each year. Our playing group, coaches and staff are all looking forward to spreading some holiday cheer and putting smiles on the faces of the people who need it most at Christmas time.”

The White Christmas Charity event, made possible by Warner Bros. Movie World and the support of its generous corporate partners, will be held on Thursday 10 December and includes over one million twinkling fairy lights, a giant Christmas tree, a visit from the big man himself and the country’s largest and most spectacular Christmas parade – all under a white snowing sky.

The Gold Coast Community Fund was established more than a decade ago by leading Business figures to provide a pool of funds to help charities, community organisations and individuals dealing with emergency personal situations.

The White Christmas Charity Event and White Christmas Stocking Fund are a joint partnership between Warner Bros. Movie World, the Gold Coast Community Fund and the Gold Coast SUNS.
