The inaugural CINE LATINO FILM FESTIVAL launches Friday night exclusively at Palace Barracks Cinema, until August 24, featuring films from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The Festival opens with the Queensland Premiere of the gripping and ingeniously conceived film, NERUDA. The pre-film celebration starts at 6pm and will include a taste of Latin America with wine, Quilmes beer, gastronomic delights and live music, followed by a 7pm the screening.

On Saturday, experience FRANCIS: PRAY FOR ME, the biographical portrait of Argentinean priest Father Jorge Bergoglio, who in 2013 became Pope Francis I, current pope of the Roman Catholic Church, screening at 12:30pm. Enjoy the Back Four: Four Films about Football with two of the spotlight films screening on Saturday, with the documentary MARACANAZO: THE FOOTBALL LEGEND showing at 2:45pm and the Argentinian comedy PAPER IN THE WIND screening at 6:30pm.
