Conversation with The Older Statesman of Music Glen Shorrick.
Glen Shorrock and Brian Cadd are celebrating the launch of their new album – The Story of Sharky and the Caddman. They will be touring in March. HHB editor Caroline Russo had a quick chat with Glen.
HHB… Pleasure to chat with you as to fact I was a big fan back in the 70’s and still have my vinyl’s of Little River Band. How did you get this happening did it happen over a drink?
Glen…. Everything happens over a drink with Brain .. and seeing we go back to the late 60’s when we were rivals in our other bands we have kept in touch all this time and build a great friendship and with the collection of music we both have we thought it would be a good thing to do.
I remember when I first began as singer in the band “Twilights”, as to the fun, and hoped that this would be something I would do for ever and here I am… hence they call me The Older Statesman as to being in this business for 50 years. It has been a long and lucky career.
HHB…. The hits are endless of what you recored over the years with LITTLE RIVER BAND and mega hits including Reminiscing, Help is on Its Way, Home on a Monday and the classic Cool Change.
GLEN… Reminiscing is one of the biggest songs that still gets played specially in Amercia has sold 6 million copies.
HHB… What do we expect in the show concert are there visuals ?
Glen…. Well it is a 2 and half hour show, and we share a lot of stories with our selection of our music and it will be funny. We thought of visual but decide to keep it simple.
HHB … What advice do you give now days to up and coming artist..
Glen …. Enjoy what you do and have patience and aim for long career and enjoy the journey.
