The judging panel has been announced and deadline extended for 2021’s AACTA Pitch: Regional Landscapes in partnership with Screenworks, a national pitching and screenwriting initiative aimed at discovering and developing an original feature film that celebrates Australia’s stunning regional areas. This marks the second year Screenworks has partnered with AACTA in supporting the next generation of filmmakers, and the esteemed judging panel constitutes creative professionals from across the Australian screen industry.

Up to five finalists will be selected to pitch their ideas to our judging panel, comprised of General Manager of Content for Event Cinemas Claire Gandy, Actor and Writer Pallavi Sharda (LION, RETROGRADE, LES NORTON), See Pictures Producer Isabel Stanfield (LONG STORY SHORT, BREATH), Head of Production at GoodThing Productions Virginia Whitwell (THE AUSTRALIAN DREAM, 2040, ALL FOR ONE) and Industry Director for Melbourne International Film Festival Mark Woods (H IS FOR HAPPINESS, BRAN NUE DAE, THE TURNING).

This initiative presents a great opportunity for early-career screenwriters, particularly those from regional areas, to build a supportive industry network – entries are closing soon! Submit your original idea now for the chance to pitch your film to key industry figures and receive developmental support to take your script to market.

HOW TO ENTER
Submissions must include the first five pages of the screenplay, an outline/synopsis of up to 1,000 words, and a 250 word description of the regional setting.
