Northern Rivers Performing Arts (NORPA) and Southern Cross University invite the community to an evening of insight, creativity and connection with Essential Stories, a live conversation exploring how art, storytelling and shared experiences shape who we are and how we live together.
Essential Stories will bring together some of the country’s leading creative minds, including internationally acclaimed playwright Suzie Miller (Prima Facie), award-winning theatre director and NORPA Artistic Director Julian Louis, artist and academic Jeanti St Clair, and celebrated First Nations theatre director and actor Fred Copperwaite.
The hour-long session will explore ideas, readings and reflections, delving into the transformative power of storytelling unravelling how creativity can illuminate truth, enrich and strengthen community, and help us imagine the future together.
NORPA Artistic Director Julian Louis, said:
“Essential Stories is about coming together to listen, reflect and celebrate the stories that define us. Art has a unique ability to help us make sense of the world, and of each other, and this event is a chance to reflect on the role of story in an increasingly busy and chaotic life.”
