MTV Style, MTV’s digital home of beauty and fashion, has launched the second season of the fashion mini-series #MTVITGIRLS. The series features inspirational stories from female Australian influencers across modelling, fashion, beauty and blogging in short, engaging and sharable episodes available on mtv.com.au/itgirls.
Season two of #MTVITGIRLS gives viewers a never-before-seen glimpse into how these female digital superstars have strategically used their social media channels to reach mass audiences and built their online empires.
Each with hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers, #MTVITGIRLS features, Sarah Ellen (936K Instagram followers), Inka Williams (710K Instagram followers), Shelby Hamilton (150K Instagram followers), Mimi Elashiry (815K Instagram followers) and Steph Claire Smith (963K Instagram followers). Commonly referred to as new age ‘social media supermodels’ who have built their following and success through Instagram, these girls have not only attracted the attention of the Australian fashion industry, but are also making names for themselves internationally.
Also featured in the series are models and entrepreneurs Tash Oakley (1.8M Instagram followers) and Devin Brugman (1.2M Instagram followers). The duo started @ABikiniADay during the summer of 2012 when they teamed up to travel the world with nothing more than a suitcase full of bikinis. Four years on, both Tash and Devin have gained extensive experience within the fashion industry, having worked on collaborations with hundreds of brands. In #MTVITGIRLS we sit down with Tash and Devin as they highlight the importance of a social media strategy for their online business, before taking us behind-the-scenes of a high-end fashion shoot for Collective Magazine.
With more than 2.5 million collective YouTube subscribers, Chloe Morello (1.7M YouTube subscribers) and Brittany Saunders (757K YouTube subscribers) have become the go-to beauty vloggers, attracting thousands of views on each of their online make-up tutorials. In #MTVITGIRLS the girls take us through a day in the life of a YouTube star, as they work on their daily videos, take part in photoshoots and attend events.
Model Kate Peck (18.9K Instagram followers) will conclude the series by giving viewers an exclusive look inside the one-for-one campaign her/. As the brands first Australian ambassador, Kate is using her profile to attract positive attention to the crowdfunded pro-social change campaign, empowering women in developing countries.
