“There were times when I felt total despair; I was locked in my own personal prison and no one could reach me. If this was to be my existence I didn’t want to continue living”. Then, when I needed them most my two four legged angels entered my life. Little did I know back then that they would be my salvation and set me free to find my true self. It’s been a long hard road but it’s been worth it.
Continuing, “I hope my life story will push anyone out of darkness and back into the light. Seventeen years ago at the age of 34 my diagnosis turned my life and that of my families upside down. Life would never be the same again. I feel privileged and humbled to have met these wonderful creatures and I truly believe I found my vocation in life. I hope that anyone who is suffering from OCD, depression or any type of cancer will find the determination and courage to fight on and find some inspiration through reading my story. I know from my own experiences that even in our darkest moments of despair there is always hope, you just need to search for it.

About the author, in her own words:
I was born on the 11th October 1963 into a working class family. I was the youngest of three sisters.
I’m now 51 years of age, and three years ago, after much persuasion I decided it was finally time to tell my story. Over the past seventeen years I feel I’ve been on an incredible journey, it’s been a rollercoaster at times. There have been some incredible highs but there have been some incredible lows, facing my demons has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do and still is at times. The reality of it all though is that generally I am a much happier and contented person than I ever was before. I dared to dream and somehow the dream came true!
