GOOD BOYS
A GENE STUPNITSKY FILM
STARRING JACOB TREMBLAY,
KEITH L. WILLIAMS AND BRADY NOON
Running time: 89 mins
Good Boys written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky and directed by Stupnitsky is an exciting new comedy film in the vein of films like ‘Superbad’ or ‘Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse’.
The film sees sixth graders Max, Lucas, and Thor each deal with their own personal dilemmas (as well as some as a group) that are common of children their age (such as young love). They also see themselves navigating their lives in an adult world whilst being completely oblivious to aspects of that world and getting in misadventures along the way.
This film is the directorial film debut for Gene Stupnitsky whose previous directing and writing credits include episodes of the hit U.S. television series ‘The Office’.
The cast of this film is a diverse mix of unknowns as well as favourites from many films of the last decade. These actors have been featured in ‘Smurfs 2’, ‘Wonder’, ‘Lego Movie’, ‘22 Jump Street’ and the recent Olivia Wilde directed hit ‘Booksmart’. This cast greatly portray these characters with incredible comedic timing in a way that is engaging.
This film is perfect for those who are a fan of executive producers’ (Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg) previous work such as ‘Superbad’. This film perfectly takes the juvenile teen/young adult humour that man of their previous works are known for and bring it in front of a new audience as well as reintroduce it to the audience that has come to love it for over a decade.
