The Arts Centre Gold Coast is excited to announce three key events of Glitter Festival, the Gold Coast’s first ever Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer and Allied Communities Festival, which will run 28 September to 5 October this year.
Tacos and Tiaras warms up the start of the week, with a little cheeky fun on Tuesday 29 September at Stingray at QT Gold Coast. Glitter Race Day is set for Saturday 3 October and is destined to be one of the hottest event tickets on the Coast. On Sunday 4 October, it’s time to lace up your sneakers (or grab your pumps!), gather your friends, family or pooch and participate in the first ever Pride Run Gold Coast.
These three events capture some of the fun and frivolity set for the Festival. The full 2015 Festival program will be released on 3 August.
TACOS AND TIARAS
Tuesday 29 September, 6pm, Stingray Bar, QT Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise
A play on QT’s infamous $3 Taco Tuesdays, this Glitter event features a personal space to mingle with like-minded people and gorgeous attendants to service guests’ dining and beverage needs. PRIDE RUN GOLD COAST
Sunday 4 October, 7.30am, Evandale Parklands, Bundall
Get ready for an explosion of colour, fun and fast moving feet at the Pride Run Gold Coast – an opportunity to celebrate the Gold Coast’s diversity with friends, families, colleagues and supporters. Choose from the 5km Rainbow Run or Walk, the 3km Paws with Pride, the 70m High Heel Dash (sure to be a crowd favourite!) and 700m Little Flyers event for kids to 12 years.
Organisers were excited to launch online registrations. Emma Porter of PM9 Events said, ‘We expect to have over 500 participants at the first Pride Run on the Gold Coast and it is certainly something all of the family can do.’ Emma said ‘…it’s a fun, fabulous, colourful and inclusive event that embraces the diversity amongst the LGBT and wider Gold Coast community – it’s open to all fitness levels, ages and distances so anyone really can be involved.’

GLITTER RACE DAY
Saturday 3 October, 11.00am, The Dome, Gold Coast Turf Club
A spectacular spring day of fillies, fascinators and fabulous fun! Glitter Race Day is set to sizzle and will become a must-do event on the Gold Coast calendar. Guests will mingle with local and national celebrities, enjoy fashions on the field (best female dress, best male dress), live music and a whole lot of horse!
Set under the Turf Club’s gorgeous light filled Dome, guests will enjoy the best view of the track and mounting yard, whilst being entertained by interstate cabaret acts amongst great company.
