Nine’s Gold Coast News welcomes one of Australia’s most well respected and popular journalists, Wendy Kingston to the team.
A local girl, born and raised on the Gold Coast, Wendy Kingston will join Queensland’s most experienced newsreader, Bruce Paige, bolstering Nine’s 20 year commitment to Australia’s sixth largest city.
Soon after moving to Sydney in 2005, Wendy joined the Sydney Nine Newsroom, where she has worked for the past eleven years – reading the 4.30pm news and evening updates, reporting for Nine’s various bulletins and Weekend Today. A wealth of experience that will enhance the new Gold Coast combination of Wendy and Bruce.
Wendy says it’s an exciting time to be joining the team:
“I was born on the Gold Coast, grew up here and went to university here. Now I’m returning to a place where I have so many fond memories I want to share with our three children.
There’s no better place to raise a young family. I’ve been working in Nine’s Sydney newsroom for the past 11 years – most recently on Weekend Today.
But the Gold Coast is where my heart is – where my family is.
Now I’m thrilled to sit next to such an icon of Queensland news each weeknight. Bruce Paige is one of the best in the business and we have such a dedicated team of storytellers in the newsroom.
I’m looking forward to being part of the next chapter.”
