The Performers Studio ready to open their doors as The Gold Coast’s Cultural Precinct supports our local young talent. From January 2016 The Arts Centre Gold Coast will be home to a brand new training program for emerging young artists in our city with the establishment of The Performers Studio.
The Performers Studio will offer a preprofessional program for talented young performers aged between 13 to 17 years with a focus on preparing the students for tertiary study and a professional career in the arts industry.
In response to a growing need on the Gold Coast for a professional training ground for our local talent, Matt Ward (International Vocal Coach and founder of the successful The Greenroom Project) together with Rebecca Grennan Djapovic ( Happy Feet The Movie and established musical theatre performer) are the artistic directors behind this new venture. Their focus is to provide a professional learning environment which creates local, interstate and international performance opportunities and workshops for the students.
One of the most unique factors of The Performers Studio is that each student will have the opportunity to be individually mentored by a range of Australian and international industry professionals who have already signed up to be a part of this project. Each Saturday from 8:30 to 1PM students will study all aspects of performance including acting, singing, dance, voice, stagecraft, film and television, career coaching, singer songwriter, cabaret and musical theatre as well as having the opportunity to watch live professional rehearsals through the valued support of The Arts Centre Gold Coast.
The first intake will Commence in January 2016 and applications to audition are now open.
