The Gympie Music Muster (August 27-30) is proud to announce that the formal charity partner for 2015 is Youngcare who create choice, dignity and independence for young Aussies with high care needs through buildings, grants, research and the Youngcare Connect hotline.
“The Muster is proud to be associated with Youngcare. We’ve always strived to provide quality access and amenities at our event for all members of the community and we truly believe that the work carried out by Youngcare makes such a huge difference to the lives of young people living with high care needs” said Festival Director, Jeff Chandler.
Last year The Gympie Music Muster won the award for Best Entertainment Event inclusive Community Champion 2014 presented by Spinal Injuries Australia for their work on improving disability access at the Muster event and their efforts to ensure that everyone can participate in and enjoy Australia’s favourite family friendly music and camping Festival.
The Muster is run by the community, for the community, and has raised almost $15 million for community groups and charities since it began 34 years ago, making it Australia’s largest charity festival.
The obstacles that young people living with high care needs face are broad and complex and there is still a lot of work to be done. It is because of partnerships and community assistance that these young people can build brighter futures and ease emotional and financial pressures for young Aussies with high care needs and their families.
