This year’s Muster has gained the support of two Queensland locals as its ambassadors, Townsville native Adam Brand and local Gympie girl Caitlyn Shadbolt, who know full well the value the festival brings to the state, joining each other on stage for the first time ever in a harmonious rendition of Brand’s track Good Friends from his platinum-selling album of the same name.

‘It’s no secret that people in country Australia work hard and sometimes they do it tough,’ said Brand. ‘That’s why I’m proud to represent a festival that contributes so much to rural Queensland, and has been giving back for 34 years now.’

Huge crowds are drawn to the usually quiet town of Gympie for the annual Muster(over 60,000 patrons last year), to witness the showcasing of upwards of 120 incredible artists from a range of genres. In a surprise announce Chandler also revealed a score of new acts to be added to this year’s already extensive line-up, including:

• Melinda Schneider • Shane Howard • Jetty Road • Kristy Cox • Roo Arcus • The Mercurys • Jenny Queen • Mickey Pie • Muster Poets • Stealing Lincoln • Matt Stillert • Harmonica Workshop with Lawrie Minson • The Lindsay Butler & Shaza Leigh Show • Adi Burgess • Killing Time • Mitchell King • Guitar Workshop with Tim Gaze •

Festival Director, Jeff Chandler, also announced the return of the hugely successful Pre-Muster Street Party, to be held in Gympie, the day prior the Festival, Wednesday 26 August. After a long hiatus the event returned by popular demand last year, with fans enjoying the sounds of professional buskers on the main street and joining in song writer sessions and catching performances from Muster artists.

Australia’s favorite camping and music festival is gearing up for another exciting event. Now in its 34th year the Gympie Music Muster will be held from August 27-30 in the stunning Amamoor Creek State Forest, just 90 minutes from Brisbane.
