The last time you saw :Paris may have been years ago and the memories may have faded a little. But you still remember, don’t you, the style, the fashion, the beautiful women, the dashingly handsome men, the chaos of the traffic, the smell of Gauloises in the air and the sheer romance of the French language?
This is your chance to take a stroll in memory down the Champs Elysées towards the Left Bank, up to Place Pigalle and along by the Seine where we will drop into a little nightclub to have a drink and hear the music made famous by the Hot Club of Paris as immortalised by Stéphane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt and the songs of Edith Piaf.
This evening’s headliner will be MARISSA BURGESS who for eighteen years was principal singer / dancer at Le Moulin Rouge together with the George Washingmachine Quintet from Sydney.
A highlight of ‘ An Evening in Paris’ will be a performance of the most scandalous and naughtiest dance of them all – the Can-Can.
So brush up your French irregular verbs and, ladies, get those black fishnet stockings and the little beret out of the bottom drawer as we take you back to pre -WWII Paris, the City of Love.
