HUSH HUSH BIZ SINGLE REVIEW
Baby
Hailing from the sun-soaked expanses of Queensland, the enigmatic singer-songwriter and performer Mario Vayne unveils his first track, Baby, a tantalizing foray into the realm of present-day pop-rock that remains refreshingly accessible. Baby deftly straddles the divide between the contemporary and the nostalgic, conjuring up an electrifying sonic landscape reminiscent of the rock anthems that once held sway. It’s a finely balanced alchemy of the modern and the classic, with Vayne’s resonant vocals seamlessly transitioning from the introspective serenity of the verses to the explosive grandeur of the chorus. Our songsmith’s journey into the musical universe commenced at the tender age of seven, his path illuminated by the musical echoes of his Italian lineage.

The familiar rhythms that permeated his childhood home, the soundtrack of ‘70s vinyl records spinning under the needle, laid the foundation for his eclectic musical taste. His sonic palate was shaped by the likes of Cheap Trick, Kiss, The Sweet, Little River Band, The Babys, and Foreigner, these bands providing the richly textured background score of his formative years. A precocious talent, Mario composed his first song at the tender age of eleven, his passion for the guitar an insatiable force driving him forward. However, a reticent demeanour kept his extraordinary talents cloistered from the world’s gaze. Vayne’s nascent career saw him blazing a trail across the pub and club circuit, his mesmerizing vocal range leaving indelible impressions as he fronted an array of bands in both Australia and the UK. However, the seismic shift in musical tastes brought about by the mid-90s grunge movement prompted a hiatus from his musical pursuits. Yet, the ember of creativity refused to be extinguished. The fall of 2018 marked a turning point, as Vayne returned to the world of music with a newfound fervour for songwriting and recording. The fruits of this creative resurgence? His captivating debut single, Baby, a sonic testament to his inimitable musical style.
