HUSH HUSH BIZ SINGLE REVIEW
Like The River

Virtual artist Chel Drup is the brainchild of renowned Australian singer-songwriter, musician, producer, and filmmaker Mahmood Khan. The new contemporary indie-pop track is a re-imagined version of Khan’s international smash Like The River, originally recorded live at the Sydney Opera House in 2009 and a former ARIA #1. Khan’s history is an exceptionally inspiring narrative about the power of music—he is not only a celebrated music figure but an impressive music production entrepreneur, introducing revolutionary music streaming platform GMLP(Great music licensing platform) whose access to thousands of songs across many genres enables brand focused curated playlists, enabling unlimited content use which inverts the standard payment structure. The driving force of GMLP is the game-changing entity Beat Viral—now signed to a publishing admin deal with Universal Music Australia—a concept of producing mass music content which Mahmood calls ‘Content Farm’. He spent several years developing the production techniques and technology to create an environment where thousands of tracks are produced every month.

Chel Drup’s version of Like The River utilises technology to create a lush, super-smooth and shiny musical landscape, featuring finely layered voices, sparse instrumentation, and evocative performances. The track is quite different to the original but no less affecting and moving. Aside from his work with Chel Drup, Khan has had an incredible number of recent global chart impacts worldwide including, Jahan tu nahi cracking the US Billboard top 20 in August 2021, a #1 Billboard Classical Crossover hit with Mahmood Khan with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra that also reached #1 on iTunes in USA, Australia, France, Switzerland, Mexico, France, and Turkey, four consecutive #1 singles in Australia, six songs on the iTunes USA top 100 during April 2021, and Tere Baghair becoming the first foreign-language album to go #1 on the USA and Australian iTunes charts. Chel Drup and Like The River is set to launch more than a fresh artistic venture into the mainstream but relaunch a memorable song.
