Interview with Nathaniel Willemse

With two singles already up with big names in the ARIA charts, 2012 X Factor contestant Nathaniel Willemse has done it again with his newest single ‘Live Louder’!
The song is a fun mixture of R&B, pop, funk, and rock with a crazy catchy tune that’s on everyone’s lips. Nathaniel talks about how his personal rollercoaster ride with X Factor has given him the inspiration to create his new hit single.
“More on a personal level this song, I wanted to write a song, I have been known to be a little reserved laid back type of shy guy in my years, in my teens, especially in high school. This is a song that personally reflects that as I’ve grown up I’ve learnt how to let go a bit more, especially since going on X Factor. And living life to its fullest,” Nathaniel said.
Showcasing along with the single is a brand spanking new video clip full of excitement and fun that really just makes you want to get up and dance. Nathaniel is doing extremely well in the Australian music industry, but his goals don’t just end here.
“It’s a huge priority for me to try and hit that international market and get it happening,”
“I just want to make good music, that has good relevance that people can connect with, and have fun with it.”
The whole experience has also been a little bit of a learning curve for Nathaniel, finding that in-between all the fun and excitement, there are still challenges to face.
“I am a perfectionist, so I like to pick at every little thing, so I’ve had to learn to let go of it and just deal with what it is. And I’m pretty indecisive as well.”
In even more exciting news, Nathaniel will be promoting some songs from his new album and getting close with some of the big names in R&B, on tour will Soulfest next month. Rubbing shoulders with artists like Aloe Blacc, Nathaniel won’t deny he might get a little star struck.
“I’m not going to lie, I think the fan boy moment will come out. I’ll hopefully want to get some photos and a bit of a chat but I’m just happy to be on the same floor as them.”

With looks and talent like Nathaniel has, of course he has already acquired his own fan base.
“Sometimes I’ll get people coming up wanting a photo or an autograph or something, or, the random ‘oh my god is that Nathaniel?’ and they just keep walking, and point and smile,”
“There’s a part of us that likes a little bit of attention but sometimes it can get a little bit overwhelming, but it’s all good, I don’t have an issue with it.”
For the all-time favourite, who would you invite to a dinner if you could invite anyone you wanted? Nathaniel gave some interesting answers.
“I’ve been asked a lot who’s my celebrity crush, it has been Kim Kardashian, I’d love to have a dinner with her. Okay there’s three people, Kim Kardashian, Stevie Wonder and Barack Obama. I would just pull apart his brain in regards to what he has to do, all the work and the decisions he has to make, just find out some inside goss.
