The King and I
The King and I Producer John Frost and Director Christopher Renshaw welcomed a preview of what will be the Opening on this Saturday night the 19th April for this wonderful musicail show.
John Frost expressed that this is the one he wants to be remembered for out of all his productions so far and it is a dream come true that he was able to bring this together after 23 years. The set alone is Stunning and millions of dollars have been spent on this production.
Lisa McCune, (Anna Leonowens) Teddy Tahu Rhodes (the King of Siam) have been brought back together as they last were in South Pacific and this time for Teddy who said it was a bit of a challenge as he acts more but is delighted to be part of this and to have true professionals to work with. Lisa McCune is perfect as Anna and she just looks amazing.
Marty Rhone (The King’s Prime Minister) who was a pop singer back in the 70’s and was in this production in London over 20 years ago said this is amazing to be back in a role and to work with everyone involved has been a dream run.
The beautiful score includes the songs “I Whistle a Happy Tune”, “Getting to Know You”, “Shall We Dance?” and “Hello, Young Lovers”.
