JUSTICE CREW CONVERSATION ON THEIR LATEST TOUR

After countless number 1 hits and eight ARIA nominations Australian group Justice Crew are on the road this year as part of their ‘Live & Local’ tour. Justice Crew will be touring around NSW and the ACT with special guest Australia’s Got Talent winner Fletcher Pilon as their opening act.

We spoke to Justice Crew member John about touring, music and what it’s like to be on the road with the group.

HHB: How excited are you to be going on tour?

JOHN: Very excited to be on tour. It is always really fun travelling with all the boys and going to different towns and meeting all the fans, so it’s really exciting.

What is your favourite part about touring?

That’s a hard question because there are a lot of favourite parts but if I had to pick one I would have to say performing in general and the meet and greats we have after the shows.

Do you ever get sick of each other when you’re touring?

Oh yeah. No we don’t get sick of each other. Its like brotherly love like a love hate relationship so when we do get our down time we prefer being on our own or with someone else.

What is your favourite track to perform?

I like performing I Love My Life and Que Sera just because a lot of people really get into and sing a long and get involved so the vibe is really good.

Do you guys have any pre-show rituals before you go on stage?

No ritual that we do. Just warming up and joking around a lot before we go on.

You have been performing together for such a long time now, do you ever get nervous before a show?

Sometimes we do, especially if we’ve made some last minute changes to a routine or something like that that we’re not really sure about. Other than that it’s more excitement. More butterflies and excitement.

Fletcher Pilon is your supporting act for the tour, are you excited to be on the road with him?

Yeah, we’re definitely excited and we are fortunate to get an amazing talent to open the show for us. I’ve been watching him on TV too so I’ll be a bit star struck.

‘Que Sera’ was such a massive hit, how did it feel to have such a positive reaction for that track?

It’s good, it’s overwhelming. We can relate to that song. It’s a song that everyone sings a long to. We usually close the show to it because it gets everyone involved and clapping their hands in the air and singing out loud and everyone vibing out.

Describe Justice Crew in 3 words.

3 words! I guess fun, energetic and …. Lovely.

What is next after the Live & Local tour?

We definitely want to get a new single out. We are trying to record maybe a new album or an EP. We just need to find our next hit. That’s the goal we are aiming for. You never know, you might see us in a movie or something like that.

What is your main inspiration?

As a group we all have different inspiration, we are all into different types of things. For me I’m into more uplifting, that sort of vibey type music. As a group probably Michael Jackson, that sort of music. Something about having fun and enjoying life. That sort of vibe.
