With the overwhelming success of Netflix’s ‘Bloodline’, 22-year-old actor Brandon Larracuente is making a name for himself in tinseltown. Brandon plays ‘Ben Rayburn’ on the hit thriller show and has his sights set on the big screen scoring a role in the upcoming ‘Baywatch’ remake. We chatted with Brandon about Netflix, The Rock, and his rebellious side.
HHB: Hi Brandon, Bloodline is such a massive hit on Netflix; can you describe it in three words?
BL: Family, Crime, and Drama
How does it feel to be a part of such a popular show?
I am truly blessed, humbled, and honoured to have been given this opportunity
The show just got renewed for a third season, how does that feel?
I am excited for another opportunity to explore my character.
Your character, Ben, is described as ‘rebellious’ and ‘never afraid to ask questions’, are you two much alike?
Absolutely, as a kid that was me. I was rebellious and always asked questions. I it feels like I am playing a younger version of myself in “Bloodline.”
Are you a big Netflix user?
Yes, almost exclusively, because it gives me an opportunity to catch up with shows that I thought I had missed out on..
You’re also in the upcoming Baywatch remake; how was that to film?
It was a dream come true, because I was able to share the screen with my childhood idol actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Did you get to do the famous slow-run on the beach?
Only on my own time to see how it felt, lol
You’ve also done your Associate degree in Broadcast Journalism, will we be seeing you broadcasting the news any time soon?
Although Acting is my passion; I can never rule out having two (2) careers. I enjoy being in front of the cameras and who knows; maybe I can play a journalist on the screen soon, lol
So what made you want to become an actor?
Others seeing in me a potential that I didn’t see at the time.
Who would you say is your biggest inspiration?
The two actors that inspire me are Will Smith and Angelina Jolie and my life inspirations are my parents.
If you could work with anyone in the world, who would it be?
WOW, an opportunity to share the screen with Will Smith and Angelina Jolie would be amazing.
What advice would you give to aspiring actors?
I would always tell them what my parents have always told me, “believe in yourself and persevere despite criticism”
What’s next for Brandon Larracuente?
To continue to work along side great actors, until the day I can hopefully be the lead in my own movies or television shows
Any other comments?
I would like to thank my amazing parents and everyone who helped me along this journey, including the people who never believed in me, because they too inspired me to never to give up. I especially thank God for all my talents and blessings.
