La Boite Theatre Company CEO & Artistic Director Todd MacDonald has announced the appointment of Katherine Hoepper as General Manager.
Ms Hoepper is currently Programming Manager & Senior Producer at Queensland Theatre Company (QTC), working in areas of company administration and management including, casting, producing, budgeting, scheduling, licensing, and contracting productions.
Prior to this, Hoepper was General Manager of QPAC’s Out of the Box Festival and a Producer and Manager for MAPS for Artists, managing and supporting and touring the work of independent theatre & dance artists. Mr MacDonald acknowledged the significant experience and qualifications Ms Hoepper brings to La Boite. “Katherine is a passionate arts leader with strong national networks and extensive management and producing experience” said Mr MacDonald.
“Her contribution at QTC and to the QLD arts industry over many years has been immense. She has championed the work of local artists and supported their work nationally.”
Ms Hoepper has been a regular guest lecturer in Queensland University of Technology’s Postgraduate Creative Industries Management Program. She also holds a Graduate Diploma Arts/Cultural Management from the School of Management University of South Australia.
Ms Hoepper said “I am delighted to be joining La Boite in the company’s 90th year. La Boite’s work has entertained, challenged and influenced me throughout my career and I am honoured to take on the role of General Manager. I am looking forward to working with the Board, Artistic Director Todd MacDonald and the whole company to continue the great work of La Boite.”
Ms Hoepper takes on the role of General Manager from Rhys Holden who will be leaving the company to take up the position of Associate Producer with the Michael Cassel Group in Sydney. Ms Hoepper will commence as General Manager at La Boite on Monday 3 August 2015.
