Las Vegas: Top Five Things to See and Do
It’s hard to believe that in the middle of the desolate Nevada desert sits one of the most glamorous, iconic cities in the US. Las Vegas: a city built on gambling, vice, and debauchery has become the most indulgent and elegant of destinations.
Whether your tickets are already booked, or it’s just on your bucket list, check out this list of five things to see and do in Las Vegas.

Try Your Luck at the Casinos
It wouldn’t be a trip to Vegas without a visit to one of the world-famous casinos on the Las Vegas strip. The first hotel-casino resort – El Rancho Vegas – was built in 1941; since then, the city hasn’t looked back.
From the enormity of The Venetian to the luxury of Caesar’s Palace, try your hand at Black Jack, Roulette, Craps, or the Slots. And if you feel like getting in a bit of practise ready for the best casinos in the US, try your hand at the best online casino in Australia at AUScasinos.com.au.

Dress Up to the Nines
To really make the most of the incredible Vegas atmosphere, treat yourself to a beautiful cocktail dress (or tux). Think red carpet. Think Elizabeth Hurley at the Academy Awards in 1995 in the most glitzy-yet-understated Versace gown. Think Reese Witherspoon in Vintage Christian Dior at the Academy Awards in 2006; a beautiful, beaded number.
So you might not be able to afford Versace or Dior, but why not scour local vintage shops for a more affordable but equally glamorous alternative?
Sip a Martini in a World-Famous Cocktail Bar
There is no better way to immerse yourself in the glamour of Las Vegas than sipping on a cocktail in one of Vegas’ many unique bars (wearing your beautiful cocktail dress, of course). Whether you’re a sucker for a classic or like to be a bit adventurous, the experienced bar tenders can mix you up an outstanding cocktail.
Get prepared by getting yourself booked on a gin, wine or whisky tasting course. It’ll get you in the Vegas mood, you’ll actually learn something, and it’s great fun.

See the Cirque de Soleil
Cirque de Soleil has been an integral part of Las Vegas for over 20 years. There’s music, illusion, acrobatics, and artistry; see the show in one of seven different world-class theatres and choose from different shows from The Beatles to Zumanity.
Get excited by having a go yourself; there are studios all over that offer classes in the aerial hoop, silks, trapeze, or circus skills in general. Not only will it be great fun (and really good for you), but it’ll make you appreciate how incredibly talented the stars of the show really are.
Hop in a Helicopter to Check Out the Grand Canyon
If you’re feeling fancy, there are plenty of different helicopter tours, many of which will take you out to the Grand Canyon. This is the perfect way to see the dazzling Vegas lights and one of the most iconic US landscapes.
There’s no way to prepare for this one, apart from preparing to be absolutely amazed.
