Bean of the Month Program July to October announced
Merlo Coffee is inviting all lovers of coffee to take an adventure every month through the popular Bean of the Month program which showcases unique single origin coffee beans from different countries.
· July’s Bean of the Month is from the Costa Rican Tres Hermanas Estate and it’s absolutely full of flavour with a sweet stone fruit and smooth syrupy body creating a rich and complex profile. The Tres Hermanas Estate, which translated means The Three Sisters, is named after the three daughters of farm owner Don Miguel Gamboa. The farm is located some 1,700 meters above sea level in a region south of San Jose. This Costa Rican bean boasts sweet flavours, with a slight degree of acidity, along with maple and toffee aromas, which make it the perfect winter cup of coffee. Take home beans: 75g – $4.50; 200g – $10.75; 400g – $20.25; 500g – $22.00; 1kg – $38.50
· August Bean of the Month comes from the Kenyan region of Nyeri and Thike, and is consistently rich in flavour, along with a deep, wine-like acidity and pleasant aroma. The fragrant aroma of this cup has floral tones, with a winey finish that has citrus and berry overtones, making it one of the most sought after coffees in the world and giving it its status as the Connoisseurs Cup.
· September Bean of the Month is the Andrade Brothers Estate, which comes from the main coffee producing state in Brazil, Minas Gerais. Known for using the natural drying method, the Brazilian Andrade Brothers Estate bean has a full dark chocolate body with mild floral acidity and hints of cocoa, and is known to coffee zealots for its silky profile.
· October Bean of the Month comes from the Acatenango Valley, Guatemala. The Guatemalan Santa Felisa Estate coffee is distinctively full-bodied, with notes of toffee and milk chocolate, and a smooth, velvety vanilla finish, giving it a harmonious profile.
